Still Teaching, still doing photography and still enjoying life

Amazing that I have not posted anything here since March of last year.
A lot has happened, and I just have not looked back at the Blog tell tonight when a student asked about Blogging.

Hey it's why I teach, those young whipper snappers can encourage us to either lead or move over and since I am not ready to stop
I shall continue to do the many things we do.

Many of you know that this month I lost my Dad, as well as a close friend
I was close to my dad and in many respects I am just like him, although I do know which end of a screw driver is the business end and more comfortable with many mechanical things.
I am silent or soft spoken about some things, which my dad was that way about a lot.
We enjoyed going to see every new James Bond flick together since I was a young teen,
I will never be able to watch another James Bond movie in his company, but I know he is there in heaven watching them and everything else I do, hopefully with a smile not a frown on his face.

We also lost Dick Goodall this month, in fact 5 days after passing of my dad, almost to the hour.
Dick will be missed by many, he was an awesome friend, the greatest photographer that I have ever or may ever know and just one stand up guy !
Dick always told the truth even if it hurt hearing it, as he wanted those that asked for advice to grow, not be over whelmed by comfort or false praise.
My business would never made it with out my Dad and Dick Goodall having helped shape and mold me, to what I am today.

In the spirit of Dick Goodall I hope I can forever teach and also offer portraits that inspire and build relation ships.

Cheers to Dick Goodall and my Dad, Silas Lott Smith
whom my studio name was taken for (as well as my middle name given)
Those that knew my dad, called him Lott
pretty awesome that everyone at BPCC calls me Mr. Lott
